A great trip to an old abbey at Lake Balaton, followed by a beach excursion at Lake Balaton for JSBP was cut short by Mike's request to visit Herend, the famous porcelain manufacturing company. After a learning about "the magic of porcelain" we drove into the Hungarian countryside to see a village that had been hit hard by the famous red sludge (a disaster in several ways for the people of Hungary). The day ended with a ridiculous road trip in a minibus back to Budapest, which meant we had the longest day ever. Overall a great experience though, Lake Balaton was beautiful as were the sights, smells, and sounds of Hungary.
(This post should be AFTER the first one...but I'm not too savvy yet)
